Like Nate, I completed my final field season of dissertation research in 2011. I spent parts of 2009, 2010, and 2011 living in Miami and studying the evolution and behavior of invasive lizards called anoles. I'm interested in competition between species, and Florida's invasive anoles are a perfect "study system" for my work: several closely related species have arrived in South Florida within the last century, and they often compete for common resources. I focused my work on one recent arrival, the Puerto Rican Crested Anole, and its interactions with another invasive species, the Cuban Brown Anole. Here are some images of the work I've conducted in Puerto Rico and Florida over the last three years.
